The Java-Bali District was inaugurated on 18 March 2025 as the first Phase 3 District in the Sealands Field. Jurisdictional General Superintendent, Dr. Gustavo Crocker, led the inauguration during the Java Bali District Assembly.
The Java Bali District was organized in 1980. Missionary George Rench was the first District Superintendent, followed by missionary Robert McCroskey. Rev. Stefanus Hartoyo began the district’s leadership in 1988 as the first Indonesian to become the district superintendent in the Java-Bali district, which was then continued by Rev. Peter Sunadi, Rev. Yohaned Winoto, and currently, Rev. Obaja Sigit. The Church Of The Nazarene Java-Bali district has around 70 active local churches and around 4000 full members.
Rev. Obaja Sigit Karyono, as the District Superintendent of the Java-Bali District, said, “Praise the LORD, our long prayer to become Phase 3 has finally been answered. I have led this district for approximately nine years, in a journey of faith that is not easy because of the vastness of the district. However, all can be done because of the grace of the LORD, because He is always present in the journey of His Church and gives wisdom and power. May this district become more mature and bear much fruit for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. All glory to His wonderful name.”
Praise be to God for the blessings and Work of the Java-Bali District, and the participation of God’s servants in the local church council, evangelists, and all members of the congregation who are together involved in the work of Christ to make disciples who are like Christ among the nations.
