SEA Field NMI gathers district NMI president for equipping and encouragement

by | Jul 19, 2024

Bangkok, Thailand—From 11 to 13 July 2024, the South East Asia Field (SEA Field) NMI gathered to reflect on the role and significance of Nazarene Missions International (NMI) within local churches and districts. The event featured fellowships and mentoring sessions spearheaded by the Field NMI Coordinator, Rev. John Mafinga, and the Regional NMI Coordinator, Christine Trent-Mosuela.

Out of the five countries in the Field, four were represented and gave reports of what God is doing in their districts. Despite the current political situation in Myanmar, Salvation Camp is an effective tool for reaching out to the communities around the country. Within a span of six months, 60 people were baptized in just one local church!

In CAA 10, people who believe in spirits are becoming more aware of God’s love and forgiveness, so they turn to Jesus for solace, and their bondage is broken as they learn more about Christ.

Moreover, NMI’s five areas of impact were presented with an emphasis on Care and Connection. Local and district leaders were encouraged to connect with their links missionaries, missionaries from their region, and those sent out from their local churches and districts.

The importance of supporting the global mission through the World Evangelism Fund (WEF) and Alabaster Fund was also highlighted, and the attendees were shown where the money goes and how it benefits their own local churches in the field and the region.

The five-day event was eye-opening for leaders in the field and the region. In-person engagement plays a significant role in educating the local churches and districts about NMI’s role as the global missions advocate in nurturing a spirit of missions to local churches and beyond.

The Regional NMI Coordinator is visiting around the Asia-Pacific Region to proclaim the good news of salvation and to make Christ-like disciples among the nations through the ministry of NMI.
