Rev. Lee, Seung Yeol, Former Korea District NYI President, Passes Away

Seoul, South Korea: Rev. Lee, Seung Yeol, former District NYI president, passed away on May 10, 2021. Rev. Lee was diagnosed with Leukemia a few months ago.  He was 40 years old.

Born on October  7, 1980, at Jang Soo Cheon-Ra North Province, South Korea, Rev. Lee graduated from Korea Nazarene University in 2005 and finished his graduate studies in 2009. In 2012, he was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene and an associate pastor of Lord’s Garden Church of the Nazarene since 2014. Rev. Lee also served as district NYI president from 2016-2018.

“Rev. Lee was a quiet man but filled with passion to serve God. He was submissive but had a vision. Whenever I had opportunities to talk to him about ministry and our faith, I always learned many things from him. His faithfulness was an example to the other pastors. We will greatly miss him.” Rev. Im, E-Rang, Rev. Lee’s successor as district NYI president shared.

He is survived by his wife – Park, Sung Hee, and 5 children – Re, Saem, Srael, Ebraim, and Tov.

A memorial service was held last May 12 to honor and celebrate the life of Rev. Lee, Seung Yeol.

Please pray for Rev. Lee’s family as they deal with the loss of a loving husband and father. Pray that God’s comfort will embrace the whole family in this difficult time.
