Nazarene Theological College announces new principal

by | Nov 10, 2023

Nazarene Theological College Australia and New Zealand is pleased to announce its new principal – Rev. Dr. Joesph Wood. His appointment will commence in January 2024. With eleven years of experience, he brings a rich background in theological education, church service, and a passion for innovation.

Joseph is no stranger to NTC, having served there as Dean of Students and Senior Lecturer in Theology and Church History since July 2021. He says, “Over the past two years, I have come to know and love the college, her students, and the Church she serves in this part of the world. It has been a joy to get to know the diversity of cultures and peoples represented here and to experience the warm welcome my family has received from the college and wider Church of the Nazarene community.”

The Board of Trustees for NTC elected Joseph as NTC’s ninth principal, succeeding Rev. Dr. Rob Fringer in the role. Roland Hearn, current Chair of the Board, commented, “It is truly wonderful, after a long search process, to see Joseph accept this nomination.”

Joseph and his wife, Rev. Kat Wood, have two children: Evelyn (11) and Miriam (8). In addition to teaching and research, he hosts We Are NTC, a Spotify podcast. He enjoys mountain biking, bush walking, good food, and meeting new people.

Please join the NTC community in welcoming Dr. Joseph Wood as its new principal. We are excited about the journey ahead and the positive impact he will have on our college community.
