by | Apr 26, 2023

Iloilo, Philippines – The Panay District in the Philippines has recently hosted a two-day Women Conference called “Women of Worth”(WOW) Summit last 30-31 March 2023. The gathering was attended by 69 women from 23 local churches in the district.

The National Women of Worth President, Rev. Sylvia Cacho, and her husband, Rev. Nick Cacho (former Davao District Superintendent), were present during the conference. Dr. Eileen Ruger – Asia-Pacific Regional Missiologist, and Mrs. Rhonda Ackerman – Philippines-Microhesia Field MemberCare Coordinator, also came to join the event and have fellowship with the participants.

The event aims to unite, support, and empower women to unite and celebrate their unique and God-given talents. It also encourage the women to develop authentic friendships and support systems as they minister to one another in all circumstances.

During the WOW Summit, inspiring and motivational messages were delivered by different speakers. Mrs. Junah C. Villanueva, a Registered Nurse and Pastor’s Kid talked about “The Beautiful and Healthy Me.” She discussed how to value and care for oneself. Moreover, Mrs. Jocelyn Abulucion, Panay District’s NMI President, and Mrs. Judith Vargas, both Pastor’s wives, shared their helpful challenge on “Listening as an Empowering Tool for Women.”  Rev. Sylvia Cacho, Inocencia Piliin, and Dr. Eileen Ruger encouraged and blessed the participants with powerful devotional messages.

Other WOW Summit 2023 Highlights were:

  • Women of the Bible Character Portrayal – facilitated by Christine Dequito Jotiz
  • Installation of newly elected officers – installed by our very own WOW National President, Rev. Sylvia Cacho
  • And a closing message by Rev. Sharon A. Punsalan – Panay District WOW Coordinator

The event culminated with an altar call that led the delegates to re-dedicate their devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ and live a surrendered life with Him, which was prayed powerfully by Rev. Evelyn Angeles. Indeed the work of the Lord through this event and the speakers in this conference encouraged all participants to reflect on how they can contribute their passion, skills, and talents to His Kingdom-building.
