Cebu City, Philippines: The Central Philippine Nazarene College (CPNC), formerly known as the Visayan Nazarene Bible College (VNBC), held its 2nd grand alumni homecoming from 9 to 11 July 2024. The three-day event took place on the school’s campus at St. Mary’s Drive in Apas, Cebu City, and was attended by nearly 150 alumni from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. This diverse group included graduates dating back to 1975, underscoring the lasting bonds formed at CPNC.
Themed “Together Again: Celebrating Connections, Collecting Memories,” the homecoming featured a lively blend of music, laughter, sermons, food, games, and fellowship. Alumni reminisced about their college days, reconnected with former professors and classmates and engaged with current students, pastors, leaders, laypeople, and missionaries.
A highlight of the event was the presentations by alumni, divided into four eras: Timeless Titans (1975-1989), Nostalgic Nineties (1990-1999), Millennium Mavericks (2000-2010), and Modern Legends (2011-2024). The Timeless Titans had the highest attendance and delivered a standout performance on the first night.
Two keynote speakers enriched the event spiritually. On the first night, Rev. Arnel Piliin, Field Strategy Coordinator of the Philippine Micronesia Field, delivered a stirring message accompanied by Rev. Evelyn Angeles’ heartfelt altar call, which saw many attendees renew their commitments. On the final night, Dr. Gilbert Montecastro, the current president of CPNC/VNBC, gave an inspiring closing address on the “Spirituality of Joy,” based on the book of Ecclesiastes.
Another significant highlight was the election of new CPNC/VNBC Alumni officers. The newly elected officers are:

These officers were ceremonially installed during the final night of the homecoming, marking a new chapter in alumni leadership.
Despite unpredictable weather, the spirit of the celebration remained undeterred. Attendees and organizers attributed the event’s success to the grace of God through Jesus Christ, brought to life through the power of the Holy Spirit. The homecoming celebrated past connections and laid the foundation for future memories and collaborations.
