The Asia-Pacific NYI gathered 60 delegates from the Philippines-Micronesia Field, Sealands Field, Southeast Asia Field, and Australia New Zealand Field to participate in the 25^th Global NYI Conventions on 9-12 June 2023. Asia-Pacific is the only region that opted to have a remote venue for delegates who cannot physically attend in Indianapolis, USA. The remote venue was at First Pacific Leadership Academy in Manila, Philippines.

Even with the 12-hour time difference between the Philippines and the USA, the delegates were energized by the physical presence of each other while attending the business meetings and the election of the new Global NYI President online via Zoom.

Some highlights of the Up All-Night event at the Manila Site were Cultural Night, where the delegates showcased their national costumes, songs, and dances. The event also included a “World Market” where every field can exchange unique items and products in the countries they represent. These activities celebrated the diversity in the Asia-Pacific and were a reminder that in Christ, we can have unity in the midst of diversity.

The regional leadership team also took this opportunity to equip young leaders with various workshops.  Some topics include Coaching in Ministry, Campus Ministry, Young Professionals in Ministry, and Youth in Mission. This time of learning empowers and encourages our youths as they continue to serve and minister in their local churches and community.

The final day of the Up All-Night event culminated with an all-out united praise and worship time. And after that, the group had the opportunity to attend via Zoom the Quadrennial address delivered by Dr. Carla Sunberg, Chair of the Board of General Superintendents.  

The event was finished, but the impact of the experiences, memories and relationships built during this time will last forever.
