by | Jul 8, 2014

Manila, Philippines:  Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) and the Asia-Pacific Region, celebrate the ordination of Dr. Darin Land.  His ordination took place on June 14th, 2014, on the Pacific Northwest Conference (Free Methodist), the same conference where his father was ordained in the 1970s.

Darin and Jill1Darin and his wife Jill, have served as Volunteers In Service Abroad (VISA) Missionaries with the Free Methodist Church since 2009.  During their service, they have been assigned to APNTS where Darin teaches courses in Greek and the New Testament, while Jill serves in the Library.

In addition to serving as Associate Professor, Darin has served in several other capacities at APNTS including Dean of Students and Chair of the faculty Information Technologies committee.

Dr. Land1Follow Darin for a day, or talk to his colleagues or students, and you will soon realize that he has a deep passion and love for education, his students, and the seminary.

“Darin is always going above and beyond the call of duty, ” stated one of his colleagues.  You will find him participating in inter-seminary sports activities and other student events, encouraging and mentoring. Off campus, Darin currently serves as the “Pastor of Help” at the Kamuning Free Methodist Church in Quezon City.

Before coming to the Philippines, Darin taught as an adjunct professor in Southern California at Fuller Theological Seminary and Azusa Pacific, while Jill served as a Registered Nurse.

We asked Darin what his hobby is if he can ever find a spare minute; scuba diving of course!  Who would have known!

Ordination 2aWe praise God for Darin and Jill Land and celebrate their passion and commitment for raising up new leaders on the Asia-Pacific Region who are dedicated to making Christ-like disciples.

Thank you Darin and Jill for all that you do!
