Beach Outing Turns Tragic – Team Members in Saipan Request Prayer

by | Jan 4, 2015

Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands: A beach outing ended in tragedy this week when a large wave swept several people into the ocean, resulting in two deaths on January 3.  (News Article).

David and Helen Ann Bucher (who serve as bi-vocational church planters in Saipan) ask you to join them in praying for the two families who lost their children.

Although the Buchers were not a part of the outing, a six year old girl who perished was in Helen Ann’s kindergarten class and the Buchers know much of the extended family.

Thank you for your prayers for the families and for Helen Ann as she ministers to her students, their parents, and her colleagues with the hope we have in Jesus during this time of tragedy.

Saipan has a population of 48,500 and is the largest island of the Northern Mariana Islands, a commonwealth of the United States in the Western Pacific Ocean.
