Iloilo, Philippines: Panay District elected Rev. Danny Sison as their new District Superintendent during their district assembly on 25 January 2025. Rev. Sison accepted this new role with deep faith and a servant heart. His path of faith was a gradual opening of God’s call, influencing his commitment to ministry and love for the church.
When the election result was announced, DS Sison was in disbelief, but excited. Although he knew this role comes with a huge responsibility, he felt a profound sense of purpose and preparedness to serve. He shared that his ministry will focus on building the local churches and equipping pastors, seeing their potential to impact their communities significantly. He also plans to be an advocate not only for the spiritual wellbeing of the pastors but also their economic welfare.
Rev. Sison has also aimed to plant at least two new churches every year to expand the church’s footprint across the district. His vision is to make strategic planning, outreach programs, and discipleship efforts to ensure that all municipalities in Panay are reached with the life-changing message of the Gospel. He knows that through teamwork and efficient management of resources, these are reachable and will have a long-term impact on the district.
Being a District Superintendent is daunting, but Rev. Sison is spiritually resilient through prayer, studying the Bible, and fellowship with other believers. He underscores the value of introspection and celebrating big and small victories to stay inspired and committed to the task at hand. He feels that being in touch with God and the people will give him the strength and wisdom to handle his role. As he enters this new chapter of his life, Rev. Sison encourages the pastors and church members in his district. He reminds them that though difficulties may come, they are not alone. Together in Christ and with faith strengthened, he encourages them to seize growth opportunities, hold fast to prayer, and encourage each other in ministry. He calls on the church to stay firm in proclaiming the Gospel and sharing God’s grace and love with everyone.
Pray for Rev. Danny as he leads the Panay district. Pray that God will empower him to lead in faith and unity and give him a new vision and unshakeable dedication to bring spiritual renewal and growth to the churches in Panay.
