Work and Witness Team to Papua New Guinea, Experiences God in the Smallest Details!

by | Sep 2, 2016

Kudjip, Papua New Guinea:  This past July/August, a team of 15 traveled from Zillah, Washington, U.S.A. to the highlands of Papua New Guinea, to complete a building project on the mission station.

While the team spent a significant amount of their time working to build a new ancillary staff house, they also had the opportunity to visit local churches and communities.  They traveled to Konduk and Tumba for bush church services.

But as we often see with work and witness teams, what they receive from the experience and people they serve is usually life-transformational.

The team had brought with them, 43 pairs of “The Shoe That Grows.”  Their plan was to hand these out to patients on the pediatric, TB, and delivery wards.  What they experienced was a HUGE reminder that God works out even the smallest details!

“We were so amazed! We counted the shoes 3 times and thought we were one pair short for the TB ward. But when we walked out of the last ward we were allowed to visit, Rob found one more pair [of shoes] hiding in his backpack, so we had exactly enough to give one pair to every child in hospital that day. Papa God knows the needs of his PNG children.” – Theresa Bell

Shoes that GrowAnna wearing her new pair of shoes, The Shoe That Grows! This W&W Team brought 43 pairs of shoes to PNG and guess how many patients the team had at the hospital to hand shoes out to? Yup, between the pediatric ward, the maternity ward, and the kids on the TB ward, FORTY-THREE…a reminder that God is even in the small details of our day-to-day lives! Thank you Zillah Church of the Nazarene and Because International! – Stephanie Peterson – missionary at Kudjip.

Thank you to the Zillah, Washington team, to those who partnered with them to see them get there, and to those in Papua New Guinea how received and hosted them.  Cooperatively this was a HUGE success!
