QUEZON and MINDORO, PHILIPPINES – As God continues to move among the next generation, two newly established districts of the Church of the Nazarene marked historic milestones through their first-ever Nazarene Youth International (NYI) District Camps, gathering young people to encounter Christ, strengthen their faith, and answer His call to ministry.
The NYI of Quezon-Marinduque District held its inaugural youth camp, REIGNITE CAMP 2026, on May 19–21 at Spring Life Con in General Luna, Quezon. Just days later, the NYI of Mindoro District conducted its first district youth camp, IGNITE, on May 26–29 in Brgy. Fatima, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.
Though held in different locations and carrying different themes, both camps shared a common purpose: to inspire a generation of young believers to live passionately for Christ and embrace their God-given calling.
Drawing inspiration from 2 Timothy 1:6, “Fan into flame the gift of God,” REIGNITE CAMP 2026 brought together youth from various churches across Quezon and Marinduque. Through heartfelt worship, powerful preaching, prayer encounters, and meaningful fellowship, participants experienced spiritual renewal and deeper commitment to Christ. The gathering culminated in the baptism of 11 young believers who publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile, Mindoro District’s IGNITE Camp gathered 62 youth participants from five local churches, many of whom met fellow Nazarene youth from other congregations for the first time. Under the leadership of District NYI President Pastor Lemwill John Olavides and the NYI Council, the four-day event featured worship services, team-building activities, discipleship opportunities, and fellowship sessions designed to strengthen relationships and foster unity among the churches. A unique feature of the camp was the shared preaching ministry of district pastors, allowing multiple leaders to invest directly in the spiritual growth of the youth. The camp also witnessed the baptism of 17 young people who publicly professed their faith in Christ.
Together, the two camps celebrated the baptism of 28 young believers, a powerful testimony of God’s continuing work among the youth of Southern Tagalog. Beyond the numbers, both gatherings became sacred spaces where lives were transformed, burdens were surrendered, faith was strengthened, and hearts were set ablaze for God’s mission.
As newly organized districts, both Mindoro and Quezon-Marinduque face the challenges that naturally accompany growth and development. Yet the success of these inaugural youth camps demonstrated God’s faithfulness and the commitment of local churches to invest in the next generation. Through cooperation, prayer, and shared vision, these districts have laid a strong foundation for youth ministry that will continue to impact communities for years to come.
The conclusion of IGNITE and REIGNITE was not merely the end of two camps—it was the beginning of a movement. Young people returned to their homes, churches, schools, and communities carrying renewed passion, strengthened faith, and a deeper commitment to serve Christ.
The first NYI District Camps of Mindoro and Quezon-Marinduque will be remembered as historic milestones—moments when a generation encountered God, responded to His call, and chose to burn brightly for His glory.
