Asia-Pacific Region mourns the loss of former missionary to tragic accident.

Crown Point, Illinois:  The Asia-Pacific Region is mourning the loss of former missionary Janelle Fosnaugh.

Fosnaugh, 52, died in a car crash that occurred in Crown Point, Illinois in the early morning hours of March 31, 2014.

Janelle and her husband, Lane, served as missionaries to Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Haiti for a total of 18 years.

Prayer is requested for the Fosnaugh family and those injured in the crash.

A funeral will be held Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene. Friends are invited to a visitation one hour before the service. The service will be conducted by the McComb Funeral Home:

Janelle R. (Zurcher) Fosnaugh, 52, went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 31, 2014. Born in Krugersdorp, South Africa, she was the daughter of missionaries Rev. Norman and Carol Zurcher. 

Janelle earned her Bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University. Janelle was a woman of God. She loved to worship the Lord and share His love with others. That passion for the Lord led her and her husband to serve the Lord as missionaries for 18 years in the Navajo nation in Arizona, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Haiti. She served alongside her husband, Lane, who pastored Elkhart Northside Church of the Nazarene and is currently serving at South Lake Church of the Nazarene in Crown Point, IN. 

Janelle was extensively involved in women’s ministries and was instrumental in starting a women’s radio ministry in Papua New Guinea.

Surviving are her loving husband of 30 years Lane Fosnaugh and daughters Joy, Laura, and Sarah Fosnaugh of Bourbonnais, IL, mother Carol Zurcher of Huntington, IN, siblings Kay (Richard) Gargiulo of Huntington, Bob (Deb) Zurcher of Roswell, GA, father-in-law Robert (Sharon) Fosnaugh of Fort Wayne, IN, sister-in-law DeLana (Ken) Millington of Fort Wayne, nephews Robert (Danielle) Gargiulo, Matthew (Rachel) Gargiulo, John Gargiulo, Jarrod (Katie) Zurcher, Brent Zurcher, niece Heather Millington, and great-niece Charlotte Gargiulo. 

Janelle is now worshiping in Heaven with her father Norman Zurcher, niece Hope Millington, and great-nephew Levi Gargiulo.

Calling will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Road, Fort Wayne, IN.

The service celebrating her life will be held at the church at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 5, 2014, with calling one hour prior. Dr. Lenny Wisehart and Rev. Brady Wisehart will be officiating the service. Burial will be held following the service in Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County, Indiana.

Memorials may be made to the Fosnaugh Children’s Education Fund or Melanesia Field Radio Fund.
