by | Dec 3, 2021

Brisbane, Australia: On 14 November 2021, Nazarene Theological College (NTC) celebrated its 62nd commencement exercises. Thirteen students were honored for the completion of their studies. This year, both the students and guests were able to attend and participate via in-person or via Zoom. The event was also broadcast live.

This year’s graduands give a great example of NTC’s range of degrees, flexibility, and reach.

  • 3 students studied from the New Zealand campus
  • 1 student studied from Fiji
  • 2 students studied from Papua New Guinea
  • 4 students studied from Brisbane campus
  • 3 students via Zoom from Australia
  • 4 students earned Diploma of Christian studies
  • 4 students earned Bachelor of Theology
  • 1 student earned Graduate Diploma of Arts
  • 1 student earned Master of Arts
  • 2 students earned Master of Divinity

Associate Professor Rev. Dr. David McEwan gave the commencement message. He challenged all in attendance to carry out the ministry from a place of trust in God, motivated by love, and willingness to sacrifice for the mission of God.

Principal Rev. Dr. Rob Fringer shared the school’s 2021 highlights which included:

  • an increase in student numbers by 17%;
  • a new Cultural and Linguistic Diverse (CALD) cohort with students from Samoa and Vanuatu;
  • the restarting of our Papua New Guinea CALD cohort, with many new students
  • a significant new partnership with Scripture Union Australia to offer a Graduate Certificate in Chaplaincy
  • publication of three new books by faculty members.

The students faced a range of challenges, not least of all, a global pandemic. Nevertheless, with God’s help, they persevered. Join us in celebrating these students and praying for them as they move into the next stages of ministry in their journey with God on a mission.
