Prayer Request – Newborn Son of Papua New Guinea Pastor Passes.

by | Nov 1, 2014

Manila, Philippines:  The Asia-Pacific Region is requesting specific prayer for one of our national leaders.

Update: November 1st, 5:15pm.  The Asia-Pacific Region, APNTS  and Papua New Guinea families, want to thank you so very much for your diligent prayers.  More than 1,500 of you have committed to pray over the last several hours.  At around 1pm, Jesus reached down and gathered Baby Floyd Berita into his arms.  Please continue to pray for the Berita family and all who have been intimately touched by this experience.  The student body, national pastors, and missionaries have been gathering for the past several hours, serving as the tangible hands and feet of Jesus.   This is not an easy path to walk, but we know who walks alongside us, and carries us during our times of greatest need.

On Thursday evening, October 30th, at 8:12pm, Christina Berita, wife of Papua New Guinea Pastor August Berita, gave birth via Cesarean Section to their son (Floyd).  He came into the world weighing 3.3 kg (7.24 lbs).

Floyd BeritaShortly after his arrival, baby Floyd began developing respiratory complications.  He is currently on a ventilator at a local hospital in Manila.  This morning (November 1), doctors are indicating that baby Floyd may have neonatal pneumonia.

Mother Christina is recovering well and doctors say she will most likely be discharged today.

Pastor August Berita talks with missionary Scot Riggins while team works on baby Floyd.
