SAMPIT, Central Kalimantan — Youth leaders and delegates from across the Kalimantan District gathered in Sampit, Central Kalimantan, on 2–4 July 2026 for the first-ever Nazarene Youth International (NYI) Kalimantan District Convention. The gathering marked a significant milestone, giving young people the opportunity to worship together, strengthen their connection, and seek God’s direction for the future of youth ministry in Kalimantan.
The main agenda item at the convention was the election of the new NYI District President. After an orderly process, full of prayer and in the spirit of brotherhood, God led the convention participants to entrust the leadership baton to Yudhi as the new NYI District President for Kalimantan District. May God grant wisdom, strength, and the heart of a servant so that Yudhi can lead with love, integrity, and a vision that comes from God.
On this occasion, NYI Kalimantan District also expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the ministry of Dwi Sari Widiastuti, who has served as NYI District President for Kalimantan District since 2023. During her leadership, Dwi has served with dedication, humility, and love for God and the younger generation. May every seed sown through Dwi’s ministry continue to bear fruit that glorifies God. Dwi said, “Praise God, the first NYI district convention was a success. We hope this will serve as a stepping stone for future generations of NYI to carry on the leadership, especially in the Kalimantan district.”
The entire convention went smoothly thanks to the help of the Lord Jesus. The atmosphere of brotherhood, the spirit of ministry, and the desire to see the younger generation grow in Christ were felt throughout the event. This reminds us that ministry is not about the person leading, but about each person’s willingness to be used by God for the glory of His name. Yudhi added, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to be elected as the NYI District President. It is my desire to serve God fully. Let’s work together to build and advance the NYI in the Kalimantan area.”
God’s Word in 2 Timothy 2:2 reminds us, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” This verse reminds us of the importance of Christ-centered leadership. Each generation is called not only to serve in its own time, but also to prepare the next generation so that God’s work continues.
May the fruit of the First Convention of the NYI Kalimantan District be a new beginning for increasingly impactful youth ministry, continuing to support the new leadership in prayer, so that every program, service, and future step will always be led by God. Amen.
