Urgent prayer is requested for teacher Baik, a Nazarene from Korea who has been ministering in an area of the Asia-Pacific Region for several years.

As a result of a motorcycle accident on Dec. 2, teacher Baik broke six ribs along with his chest bone [sternum] and is currently in a local hospital.

Due to an apparent damaged lung, it is not recommended that he be moved to a larger hospital by air. But the local hospital does not have the expertise to deal with the situation. Please pray for divine healing. Pray that a doctor will be found to visit teacher Baik to treat this serious situation.

**** Update ****

10-Dec-2014 “The surgery went well, by the grace of God,” reports Bill Kwon, Nazarene team member in Thailand.  “The lung is good and the rib bones are in the process of healing Naturally.  On Wednesday, (10-Dec) the doctor allowed Baik to be discharged. He left the hospital around 11:30am and arrived at the capital city around 3:30pm. Everything seems well.  Baik is not on bed rest.  The next hospital visit is scheduled for Christmas Eve.”

Thank you all for your prayers on behalf of Baik and his family.

8-Dec-2014 Teacher Baik is scheduled for surgery related to the broken collar bone on Monday, Dec. 8. Mrs. Baik continues to testify to the power of prayer over the past few days and believes her husband’s survival was indeed due to God moving in response to intercessory prayer from many people. The Baiks are very grateful for the many Nazarenes around the world who have been praying. Churches and pastors in Korea have been faithfully praying for his recovery and are helping with expenses.

After surgery on Monday, Teacher Baik will be discharged from the hospital and will find a local hotel to stay for two weeks for further rest and observation.

6-Dec-2014 Thank you for praying for Teacher Baik who was injured in a motorcycle accident in Asia on Dec. 2. He was transferred to a hospital in Thailand on Friday morning, local time. Further examinations later on Friday showed that surgery will only be needed for the left collar bone and that is scheduled for Monday. The ribs are cracked but will heal without surgery. Teacher Baik and his family praise God for many people who have provided assistance, and for Nazarenes worldwide who have been praying for him! Pray for the surgery Monday and for his complete recovery.

5-Dec-2014 Information was just received the Rev Baik is at the hospital in Thailand, going into surgery.  Please Pray for the surgery to go well and for no infections or complications.

4-Dec-2014 The Korean embassy has recommended that Baik be moved to Thailand for further treatment.  Baik will move to Thailand on Friday via ambulance.  It is about a 2 hour overland trip.

Please continue to pray for Baik and for the doctors that God will even now be preparing to minister to him.
