Manila, Philippines:  The Asia-Pacific Region and the Philippine Micronesia Field, are very excited to welcome our newest member to the team.

Virgil Albertson, arrived to the Philippines on February 11th.  Originally from Florida, he has come to the Region to serve as the interim Field Treasurer for the Philippine and Micronesia Field.

Overseas missions are not new to Virgil.  He has been involved in several mission trips through Calvary Chapel, including short-term assignments in Ecuador and Guatemala.

While working as an insurance agent, Virgil continued to feel the call in his heart to missions. A friend introduced him to the Church of the Nazarene two and a half years ago. After this, he began to research the church and its missions programs. His call to serve would result in his volunteering with the relief efforts following Super Typhoon Yolanda that struck the Central Philippines in November of 2013. During that time, he spent 3 weeks working alongside the local church as part of the Nazarene Disaster Response.

Virgil returned to his home in Idaho with a renewed commitment to serve the Lord wherever He called. This commitment led him to sell his home and many of his belongings in order to be ready and available to be used by God.  It would be just a short three months later that Virgil would be answering the call to once again return to the Philippines.

“I can’t wait to get started and do my part in the great work of our Lord here in the Philippines and Micronesia,” stated Albertson.
