It was truly a special occasion as the Angeles City’s founding pastor, and retired missionary Dr. Ronald Beech, along with two of his children, Barry and Coleen Beech-Skinner (missionary to Hungary) returned to the Philippines and were present for the celebration.

Dr. Beech was the guest of honor, bringing the morning’s message,  which was followed by a testimony and reminiscences from Coleen as she narrated her story and experiences growing up in the church, along with her siblings.

Dr. Angelito Agbuya, who has served as the pastor of the Angeles City Church for the past 48 years, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award (DSA), along with his ever supportive wife, Rose.

The Agbuya’s were presented with the DSA for their tremendous contributions and service to the Angeles City Church over the past five decades.

In addition to the Beech family, there were several visitors from churches that have been planted by the Angeles City Church, local government officials, and representatives from the Asia-Pacific Region and Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary.

The Angeles City Church has had a long history of growth and church planting, having planted or assisted in the planting of 8 churches, not including two more that are currently in the plant process.  While members are being sent out of the Church to plant new churches, new believers are being welcomed!  On Saturday, October 11th, 43 new believers were baptized into the faith.  Praise God!

Additionally, education has been a significant part of the Angeles City Church, which opened the first Nazarene School (elementary and high school) in the Philippines.  The  Nazarene Academy, now in its 28th year, has a student body of more than 300.

The Asia-Pacific Region celebrates the legacy of the Angeles City First Church of the Nazarene, and prays that it will continue in its mission of making Christlike disciples in the nation of the Philippines!
