Asia-Pacific Region participates in the Global Week of Prayer

by | Mar 8, 2024

The Asia-Pacific Region, led by the Regional Nazarene Missions International Council, joined in celebrating the Global Week of Prayer. Over 200 people participated from 25 February-2 March 2024 on praying for the daily praises and requests focusing on each of the regions.

The online kick-off service on Day 1 was held on 25 February 2024, starting with introducing the Global Week of Prayer, followed by inspiring messages from Global NMI Director Lola Brickey and the challenge by the Regional Director, Dr. Mark Louw. He emphasized the importance of prayer by citing 2 Chronicles 7:14. Moreover, the Field Strategy Coordinators were the ones who led the reading and prayer for the praises and prayer items for the Global Church. Regional essential ministries (NMI, NDI and NYI) led the reading and prayer for the Kids Praise and Prayer items. This is the first Global Week of Prayer that includes a resource for children.

From Day 2 to Day 7, the six Field NMI Coordinators led the prayer time for all the global church regions. Mesoamerica and South Americal Regional NMI, led by their Regional NMI Coordinators, Ana Maria Crocker-Diaz and Ruth Bravo, respectively, joined the prayer for their region on Day 4 (Wednesday) and Day 6 (Friday). From Monday through Saturday, around 40 participants from the APR and the two (2) regions prayed at 5:30 in the morning.

“Prayer is the glue that connects us,” according to RNMI Christine Mosuela. Time and distance do not hinder people from coming together and raising their voices to the Lord in unison. Indeed, when two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst. During the recently concluded Global Week of Prayer, God was all around the Global Church of the Nazarene when all prayed as one church, one body, with one faith, one Lord. Jesus is Lord!
