District Superintendents from across the Asia-Pacific Region gathered at the First Pacific Leadership Academy in Antipolo City, Philippines, from 13-16 May 2026, for the Asia-Pacific Regional District Superintendent Summit. Centered on the theme, “Leading Transformational Districts: From Vision to Multiplication,” the summit brought together 85 district and field leaders for a time of learning, collaboration, spiritual renewal, and renewed alignment with the Region’s vision and mission.
The summit challenged District Superintendents to view their role not merely as administrators but as transformational leaders who translate God-given vision into intentional discipleship, leadership development, church multiplication, and missional impact. Participants explored the Region’s vision of seeing “a movement of God across the Asia-Pacific Region” and its mission of intentionally making Christlike disciples in the power of the Holy Spirit by pioneering, developing, and resourcing interdependent and sustainable Nazarene churches and districts.
Throughout the gathering, leaders participated in sessions on vision and mission, district development, ministerial preparation, spiritual formation, discipleship, pastoral relationships, church growth, leadership development, church planting, district administration, and discipline and restoration. The summit also provided practical tools to help districts align their ministries with the Region’s four primary objectives: Focus, Discipleship, Leadership Development, and Church Growth.
Special emphasis was placed on cultivating healthy and sustainable districts that nurture Christlike disciples, raise transformational leaders, strengthen local churches, and expand the Church’s presence in communities throughout the region. Leaders were encouraged to develop churches that are houses of prayer, engage their communities through compassionate ministry, invest intentionally in children and youth, equip future pastors and church planters, and strengthen pathways for ministerial preparation and leadership succession.
The summit also challenged field and district leaders to evaluate and align their strategic priorities with the Region’s direction for the next three years. Key areas of focus included spiritual formation, contextualized discipleship, sustainable district development, church multiplication, digital discipleship, compassionate engagement, leadership development, and operational effectiveness. Through collaborative discussions and shared learning, District Superintendents explored how these priorities could be contextualized and implemented within their respective districts.
I’m grateful and happy to have learned something new, as I’ve only just served as a DS in Java-Bali. Through the DS Summit, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of my duties and responsibilities as a district leader, as well as the things and rules I should and shouldn’t do. Thank you for the opportunity to meet with leaders. I’m grateful to be further equipped. – Rev.Yehezkiel Siswanto – Java-Bali District Superintendent
The gathering concluded with communion, prayer, and a commissioning service, sending leaders back to their districts with renewed vision and purpose. As they return to serve across the diverse cultures and contexts of the Asia-Pacific Region, District Superintendents carry a shared commitment to lead transformational districts that make Christlike disciples, equip emerging leaders, strengthen local churches, and participate in God’s movement throughout the region—because every soul matters.
