Isla Verde, Philippines — Since 1 August 2024, The Church of the Nazarene in Isla Verde has taken a major step toward community transformation with the installation of solar power systems, providing reliable electricity and strengthening local resilience through renewable energy.
The project, supported by Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, equips key church facilities with sustainable power to address long-standing challenges caused by limited and unreliable electricity in the area.
Three solar installations were completed as part of the initiative. The main worship hall now operates on a reliable, uninterrupted power supply, allowing worship services, fellowships, and church activities to continue without interruption. The church parsonage was also fitted with solar panels, providing the pastoral family with a reliable, cost-effective energy supply to better support their ministry. In addition, a solar-powered community charging station was established, enabling residents to charge mobile phones, flashlights, and other essential devices.
Local leaders report that the project has already made a significant difference in the daily lives of community members. Evening worship services, Bible studies, and community gatherings can now be held consistently, while the charging station has become a vital resource for communication, particularly during emergencies.
Church leaders expressed deep gratitude to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries for partnership, noting that the project has brought both physical light and renewed hope to the island. They also emphasized that the initiative reflects the church’s ongoing commitment to serve the community holistically.
Above all, the Church of the Nazarene in Isla Verde gives thanks to God for the successful completion of the project, affirming that the solar installation stands as a testimony of God’s provision, faithfulness, and enduring love for His people.
