Pingtung, Taiwan. On 6, 14, 20 December 2025, a youth-led Christmas Gospel flash mob across three communities in Southern Taiwan. Resulted in reaching 70 people who heard the gospel, marking both a powerful outreach moment and a significant step of faith for the young people involved.
On 13 December 2025, a Kids Game outreach was held in the NanHe tribe, using a sports-based experiential learning approach built around the theme “Overcoming.” Through each game and challenge, the children learned how to face difficulties and persevere. Using the story of the Apostle Paul, the team encouraged the children to “not be afraid and press on toward the goal.” At the conclusion of the program, 32 children decided to follow Jesus. Every child raised their hand to receive Jesus as their best friend and lifelong help.
(A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform a coordinated, often unusual or humorous act (like dancing, singing, or a choreographed routine) for a short time, and then quickly disperse, leaving onlookers surprised and often amused.)
Organized by the Nazarene Youth International (NYI) of Pingtung and led by Rung Sheng Hui, the outreach was first envisioned in September and carried out through months of prayer, teamwork, and preparation. For many of the youth, however, the event represented more than a well-planned activity; it was their first time actively stepping into public ministry and evangelism.
The outreach took place in Nanhe, Guichong, and Shitou. Before beginning, the youth gathered for prayer, encouragement, and final instructions, entrusting the day to God. The first flash mob was held in Nanhe, the hometown of several NYI members, where the team boldly shared worship songs and the Gospel in a familiar yet public setting.
In Guichong, the youth led worship, distributed Gospel tracts, shared personal testimonies, and clearly presented the message of Christ. The final stop in Shitou saw strong collaboration with local church leaders, who welcomed the team and helped organize the event. As songs and testimonies were shared, community members gathered, leading to meaningful conversations and personal interactions after the program.
Throughout the day, the youth faced real challenges. Many spoke publicly for the first time, shared deeply personal stories through microphones, and ministered in unfamiliar environments. These moments stretched their faith and courage, transforming the outreach into a formative discipleship experience that encouraged them to be active participants in ministry and evangelism.
The event’s success was also made possible by strong community and church support. In Nanhe, a local beverage shop provided space. In Guichong, church leaders stepped in with sound equipment when technical issues arose. In Shitou, church members prepared hospitality and assisted with coordination. Nanhe Church supported the outreach with prayer and logistical help from start to finish.
During the preparation phase, the youth were equipped and trained to learn how to play the games, explain the rules, and lead the activities. Their willingness to commit to children’s ministry was powerful—even when they felt unprepared, they chose to step out and grow. This truly reflected the theme of this year’s Kids Game, “Overcoming.” We were all stepping into things we had never tried before.
Some youth hosted for the first time, some led children’s small groups for the first time, and others even acted in dramas for the first time. Yet we witnessed remarkable growth in every young person. Through serving children, God was also shaping and training us to become mature leaders.
Along the way, we faced many challenges. It was not easy to find partners willing to invest in children’s ministry, but we continued to encourage our church family to pray with us. At every training session, we began with worship and praise, because prayer is central to everything we do, and worship is our spiritual weapon. We do not fear the enemy’s attacks.
As we overcame our fears and each person faithfully carried out their role, the children were filled with joy, and our co-workers testified that the program was truly wonderful, giving children the opportunity to know Jesus from a young age. We continue to pray that the Gospel will fully take root in our tribe and in our daily lives.
Most importantly, 70 people heard the Gospel, and through the Kids Game, 32 children responded to the Gospel and placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The outreach concluded with gratitude to the churches, organizations, volunteers, and communities who partnered together, and with praise to God for His work.
