Hong Kong Island, HK. On 2 November 2025, churches in the Hong Kong District gathered to commemorate 50 years of making Christlike disciples and building God’s church. This historical event was a two-part celebration led by the current HK District Superintendent, Hilton Fan, and other district leaders. The first part was a Spirit-filled worship service held on the 4th floor of the Parkview Building, where the first local ordained Nazarene elder, Rev. Sam Chung, preached an inspiring message of hope that looked to the past and the future of God’s mission in Hong Kong.
It was followed by a lunch fellowship in Sonata Western Restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Rosedale Hotel. The total attendance was estimated to be 110 people, including guests.
The anniversary celebration honored former missionaries and local leaders who have pioneered and contributed to the ministry in Hong Kong over the past five decades. The event featured heartfelt testimonies, inspiring video presentations, and powerful worship performances from the three Nazarene churches in Hong Kong: Hong Kong First Church, Ma On Shan Church, and International Church of the Nazarene.
The event was attended by pastors, both retired and active, missionaries, and former district leaders. Present at the celebration was Taiwan District Superintendent, Rev. Joshua Huang, and his wife, Mrs. Corrie Chen. Their participation represented the two districts’ friendship and partnership.
The gathering was also attended by the East Asia Field Strategy Coordinator, Rev. Jeremy Budd, and his spouse, Nicole Budd. Just a few months earlier, FSC Budd presented Hong Kong District with the first Asia-Pacific Regional Discipleship Award during its District Assembly.
During his closing speech at the anniversary event, FSC Budd congratulated the Hong Kong district for their faithful service to the Kingdom of God. He went on to say, “God has been faithful over these past 50 years, and we look forward with hope to the next 50.”
