Asia-Pacific Region participated in the Global Week of Prayer

by | Mar 11, 2022

Asia-Pacific Region churches joined together for the Global Week of Prayer. The prayer kick-off was held via Zoom last February 27. It was attended by more than 100 people from various countries around the region.

Our Regional Director, Dr. Mark Louw challenged everyone with the 7:14 Initiative which means that everyone should intercede for the Churches around the globe, especially those who are in Ukraine every day at 7:14 in the morning and at night. The said initiative is from 2 Chronicles 7:14, and it says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

“For the past several months, the Lord has placed me a burden, that we should be a people of prayer. That if we desire to see things started and continue to persevere. That we come to Him in prayer and seek His face, seek His blessing, and guidance. And as a result of that, I was contemplating a prayer initiative. As many of you are aware, I served in the interim capacity as Regional NMI President. And during that time, it was a great reminder that one of the key elements of Nazarene Missions International is that of prayer. That it be the essential ministry of the church that focuses on Global Prayer. And that rallies us and brings us together…” -Dr. Mark Louw

Philippines and Micronesia Districts

The Church of the Nazarene is indeed a praying church! The prayer initiative continued until March 5 after the kick-off. Every night, the districts from the Philippines/Micronesia Field were assigned to gather online to focus on the daily praises and prayer focus. Throughout the week, there were more than 200 attendees that joined this event. Praise God.

“The Global Week of Prayer re-awakened our spirits to unite in prayer as one region. It was a sight to behold seeing brethren from around the region praying as one body.– Christine Mosuela, Asia-Pacific NMI Coordinator
