In Southeast Asia, January-March is the season for District Assemblies. Assemblies are always a time of joy and excitement because we get to share with one another how God has been working in our churches and ministries in the past year.
This year a lot of changes have taken place on our Field and the country of Cambodia has had its fair share. Rolf and Debbie Kleinfeld, who had served as the Country Coordinators and DS of Cambodia, returned to the US to obey a call to pastoral ministry and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts and livers (yes you read that right, it’s a thing in Cambodia!) for the incredible work they have done in building the Kingdom! While the role of Country Coordinator is being phased out, a new DS has been appointed.
On February 28, 2020, our Regional Director, Mark Louw, officially welcomed Rev. Kevin Campbell-White as the newly appointed District Superintendent of Cambodia. Kevin and Jeni will be relocating from Bangkok, Thailand to Siem Reap, Cambodia to serve the Church there in the coming months.
Kevin and Jeni will continue to serve as the Work & Witness Coordinators for SE Asia as Kevin also embraces this new responsibility.
Kevin and Jeni shared that, “District Assembly 2020 was a wonderful time of encouragement, renewed vision, and celebration. We celebrated brand new district licensed pastors and six pastors who have completed the course of study and will hopefully be the first ordained pastors in Cambodia next year! We prayed for the ongoing work of evangelism and discipleship, for new believers and growing churches. And when we found out that our 62 churches each only had 2 Bibles, we were able to quickly purchase over 300 Bibles and give each church 5 more copies of the precious and powerful Word of God!”
God is working in Cambodia! He’s building His church and His people are enthusiastically joining him in that work!
