6.3 Magnitude earthquake strikes off the coast of Tonga!

Tonga, South Pacific:  The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake has struck northeast of the Tongan capital, Nuku’alofa, at around 7pm local time and registered a magnitude of 6.5.   There are no current tsunami warning posted.

“Shaken But Not Destroyed…some broken glass… no report of injuries at this point,” reported Harmon Schmelzenbach, Melanesia South Pacific Field Strategy Coordinator.
