On 17–18 March 2026, the Lydia EDC (Evangelism, Discipleship, and Church Planting) and Jesus Film Harvest Partners (JFHP) Annual Leaders’ Conference was held in Mandalay, Myanmar, bringing together Church of the Nazarene leaders to strengthen collaboration and advance their shared mission.
Thirty-two national team leaders, representing 32 teams across four districts, gathered for prayer, worship, and ministry updates. In the midst of Myanmar’s ongoing political and economic challenges, the focus remained not on fear, but on the harvest. Although Myanmar has five districts, leaders from the North-West District were unable to attend due to transportation limitations, while their report was presented on their behalf.
The conference featured key speakers who provided strategic and practical direction for ministry. Rev. Jeremy Page spoke on “How to Grow Lydia,” Dr. Bill Kwon presented the “Lydia EDC Framework,” and Rev. Dr. Arnel Jotiz shared on “How to Multiply Lydia.” Each session strengthened leaders with clear, actionable tools for evangelism, discipleship, and church multiplication, offering both spiritual encouragement and ministry clarity.
A significant part of the gathering was the presentation of district reports:
• 10 leaders from the Myanmar Southern District
• 8 from the Central District (host)
• 6 from the South-East District
• Northern District report presented by the District Superintendent
The interactive Q&A session encouraged collaboration, problem-solving, and unity among leaders serving in diverse and challenging contexts.
Lydia EDC was emphasized as a Spirit-led movement, not a rigid program. Leaders seek “persons of peace” (Acts 16), share the Gospel, and immediately disciple new believers to become leaders. This leads naturally to church planting, forming simple, locally led, Acts 2 communities devoted to the Word, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. Because these churches are simple and reproducible, they remain resilient and multiply rapidly.
A Movement Bearing Fruit:
Despite national crises, the Church of the Nazarene in Myanmar has experienced remarkable growth over the past nine years—from 2 to 5 districts, 32 to 135 churches, and around 1,000 to more than 6,500 members. More than 100 new pastors have been raised to lead these growing congregations. This multiplying movement is greatly strengthened through partnership with JFHP, which provides tools, training, and ongoing support for frontline ministry.
Rev. Jeremy Page shared:
“The highlight of my visit is hearing the stories of the team leaders… They are living testimonies of how God is working in your lives and ministry.”
Vision for the Coming Year:
The leaders committed in faith to:
• 1,600 new believers
• 160 new preaching points in unreached areas
• 32 mission-type churches planted
• 16 organized churches established
These are not just targets, but lives transformed, families restored, and communities renewed by the Gospel.
A Call to Prayer:
These leaders continue to minister in difficult and sometimes dangerous conditions. Let us:
• Pray for the 32 team leaders
• Pray for protection, wisdom, and boldness
• Give thanks for JFHP’s faithful partnership
Even in a nation marked by uncertainty, God is raising a multiplying movement of hope.
