On 10 June 2023, Christine Mosuela was elected Global NMI President. Let’s read Christine’s story as she shares her journey marked by faith, faithful service, and God’s unwavering guidance through every season of life. From teaching Sunday School to serving in missions ministry and being elected as Global NMI President, her life reflects how God prepares and equips those He calls for His purpose.
“This was the day I was elected as Global NMI President on 10 June 2023 – three years ago. Looking back, I can only think of my life verse becoming evident in my role in NMI and how God prepared me for it through the various ways He had trained me.
My first church ministry started in Sunday School. I was a Sunday School teacher from 1995 to 2022, teaching students from junior high school through senior high, college, and young professionals. Instead of students being promoted to the next level with a new teacher, I was the one who followed them and taught them throughout their Sunday School life.
Part of my journey was my employment with Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC-Philippines), based in Manila, from 1989 to 1994, which broadcasts on shortwave radio and reaches countries in East and Southeast Asia. I served in the International Operations Division (IOD) and became acquainted with and connected with these countries in the Asia-Pacific Region.
In 1994, I entered the field of education and became an elementary and high School teacher. Teaching allowed me to influence young lives not only academically but also through Christian values and personal example. Then, in 1995, another chapter began when I joined the Clark Development Corporation, where I worked until 2023. My role involved marketing the Freeport Zone and working closely with foreign embassies, commercial trade attachés, and consular services, widening my network of connections with various institutions and countries around the world.
In 2010, I was entrusted with the responsibility of serving as NMI President in my local church. Four years later, in 2014, I became District NMI President, where my passion for missions and leadership continued to grow. I was deeply involved in NMI, checking every NMI Journal and Mission story on the Global NMI website. With my desire to educate my district, I shared every piece of information I gathered, and I even connected directly with the Global NMI Director, Lola Brickey, and the Global NMI President, Philip Weatherill, to send their greetings to our District during our District Conventions, which they did with joy. Since 2014, I have felt the desire to share God’s love full-time through NMI.
In 2019, I was invited to serve as the first Philippines-Micronesia Field Coordinator, a role that expanded my ministry’s influence and deepened my understanding of global missions. As early as that time, I had been praying and asking the Lord if He was calling me into full-time service in NMI. Then in 2021, I was appointed as Asia Pacific Regional Coordinator, allowing me to serve and encourage leaders and churches across the region.
In 2023, God opened yet another unexpected door when I was elected as Global NMI. After almost 40 years in the corporate world, I retired from full-time employment and stepped fully into God’s calling as a full-time NMI Volunteer, being the Regional NMI Coordinator and the Global NMI President.
In hindsight, I can clearly see that every season of my life — from Christian broadcasting, teaching, corporate leadership, church ministry, and missions involvement — was part of God’s preparation for this new chapter of service. Every experience, every opportunity, and every challenge became a tool in shaping me for His purpose. I believe that when God calls us, He prepares us for the task ahead. And this proves true. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28 My lifetime verse.
