An Asia-Pacific Maximum Mission Team and the emerging youth leaders in Mongolia partnered together to co-lead the children’s ministry during this year’s Holiness Gathering, held on 15-18 August 2024 outside of Ulaanbaatar Mongolia. The 4-day gathering was packed with engaging activities, including Bible Story Sharing, song and dance, memory verse, craft-making, and Amazing Race. They named this year’s camp “Missionary Journey 2024.” Each participant received a DIY passport, symbolizing the journey of a missionary traveling around the world for God’s kingdom. Through this activity, children and youth learned about different cultures and countries, gaining insight into what it’s like to be a missionary serving cross-culturally.
God worked through this cross-cultural team, touching the lives of both the children and the leaders. This cross-cultural, multi-lingual team embodies the unity of the Global Church. They found strength and encouragement as they served alongside fellow brothers and sisters, even when they could not easily communicate. The team experienced a deeper level of God’s love as they worshipped and fellowshipped together. This was a great example of the partnership people enjoy in the Church of the Nazarene.
Maximum Mission team member Girle Ann Dado reflected, “My experience joining Maximum Mission in Mongolia has helped me embrace and value other cultures. I am amazed by how people around the world are so diverse and have many differences, yet God loves us all the same. When God is present, people can work together despite their differences.”
The Maximum Mission program seeks to equip young men and women for full-time cross-cultural missions. This year’s team brought together eight current and future missionaries from the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Brazil, and the United States. The local leaders are very grateful for their service and sacrifice and for the churches in their districts and worldwide who came together to support them.
They are excited about the future of Nazarene Global Missions as they grow into their calling as a missional church, where Nazarenes from all world areas and cultures are raised and sent into the harvest fields of God’s Kingdom mission.
