From 7–9 January 2026, Sealands Field gathered district secretaries from across the field in Yogyakarta for a three-day training and briefing. Centered on the theme “Growing in Integrity, Collaboration, and Administrative Order for the Mission of Christ,” the event aimed to strengthen administrative ministry in support of the Church’s vision and mission.
The training was designed to equip district secretaries to carry out their roles with clarity, accountability, and spiritual integrity. Expected outcomes included aligning district administrative reports with the online Annual Pastor Report (APR) system, developing clearly structured 2026 district secretary work plans, increasing awareness of administrative ministry ethics, and strengthening collaboration among secretaries across all ministry areas within Sealands Field.
The program opened on the first day with a devotional and reflection titled “Secretary Service as a Holy Calling,” led by Rev. Roni Gunawan. This was followed by sessions on the role of district secretaries, evaluation of district administration and reports, and archive management, facilitated by Sealands Field Secretary, Iik Gunawan.
On the second day, participants attended a session on Best Practices in District Documentation, presented by the Field Secretary. A panel discussion followed, addressing ethics, confidentiality, and honesty in church administration, statistical development, and district targets, led by Rev. Sukirdi, Java-Bali District Secretary. The day concluded with an online Archiving Workshop conducted by Field Communication Coordinator, Wendi Pasaribu.
The final day focused on 2026 Strategic Planning and the completion of the Annual Pastor Report, ensuring that participants left with practical tools and clear direction for the coming year.
Rev. Febi Zebua, Sulawesi District Secretary, shared, “After three years as district secretary, I had not fully understood my role or best practices. I am grateful for this training, which has provided clarity and encouragement. I hope these meetings can be held biennially.”
Similarly, Rev. Santoso, Sumatera District Secretary, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting that the training was especially helpful in his first year of service and in preparing for the district’s first assembly as a Phase One district. He also shared his hope for extended training sessions with more hands-on practice in the future.
Praise God for His guidance and provision throughout this training. District secretaries from Phases One through Three were encouraged and equipped to serve faithfully in their calling. It is hoped that this initiative will contribute to more orderly, ethical, and consistent administrative services across all districts, further strengthening the ministry of the Church of the Nazarene throughout the Sealands Field.
