Alabaster Walls, Local Foundations: Global Generosity Helps Establish Myanmar Southeast District Office

by | Mar 18, 2026

TOUNGOO, MYANMAR — On 8 January 2026, the Myanmar Southeast District of the Church of the Nazarene celebrated a significant milestone with the dedication of its new District Office in Toungoo. Marked by joyful worship and thanksgiving, the moment reflected God’s faithfulness through both global generosity and local commitment.

The dedication took place alongside the district’s 1st Assembly (January 8–9), under the theme “Faith and Action” (Hebrews 11:1). Around 160 participants—including pastors, lay leaders, youth, and guests from the Southern and Central Districts—gathered to celebrate this historic step forward.

Leaders emphasized that the new facility is more than a building—it is a testimony of partnership. The construction of the district center was made possible through the Alabaster Offering. At the same time, the land was generously provided by the Myanmar Southern District.

Alabaster Offering has helped build local Nazarene churches, schools, and ministry centers around the world. In Toungoo, their prayer to have a ministry center became a reality through the generosity of Nazarenes around the world. District leaders expressed deep gratitude, recognizing that without this global support, such a milestone would not have been possible.

The Southern District’s gift of land reflects a powerful story of multiplication. Once a “daughter” district itself, it has now become a “mother,” investing in new ministry areas through church planting, discipleship, and leadership development. This act of generosity positions the Southeast District to move toward full organization as a Phase II District, grounded on a debt-free and sustainable foundation.

The new office will serve as a strategic hub for the district’s Vision 2030 goals, including planting 50 new churches, launching 50 discipleship groups, conducting 150 salvation training sessions, and equipping 40 new ministers for service.

The Myanmar Southeast District invites the global church to continue in prayer—for peace and protection, for the spiritual growth of new believers, for the strengthening of leaders, and for continued multiplication across the region.

As prayers of dedication were lifted, the building stood as a visible reminder: when the global church gives and the local church responds in faith, God continues to expand His Kingdom.
