A remodel of the second floor of Owens Hall is well underway at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary in the Philippines. The project, which began in June, involves reconfiguration and renovation of the entire second floor. The remodel is a joint effort between the offices of World Mission Communications-Asia-Pacific (WMC-AP), the Asia-Pacific Resource Center, and APNTS. Upon completion, the newly renovated facility will provide shared reception and common areas, as well as suites of work spaces for personnel assigned to WMC-AP and the resource center. The facility will house a new recording studio, creative design areas, and video editing and application design work spaces. In addition, it will contain offices for the support team of Nazarene Online Accounting, the system currently in use globally for mission accounting; information technology support for the region; the global call center for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries’ Child Sponsorship Program; and the office of the regional communications coordinator, Todd Aebischer.”This is definitely an innovative and effective way to utilize limited mission resources for maximum effectiveness and impact,” Aebischer said. “By sharing common areas, reception staff, and technology resources, we are building momentum and synergy that will truly help us make a greater impact in reaching our region and assisting the global church with its mission.”
WMC-AP currently produces or facilitates the production of radio programs on the region such as Perfect Rhythm, a weekly one hour youth radio program hosted each Saturday, and Rated PG (Parental Guidance) a weekly radio ministry focusing on parenting issues from a biblical perspective. In addition, WMC-AP produces videos, podcasts, websites, and new media (mobile applications) for global use. The most recent application for global release was an interactive application to assist with teaching the Church of the Nazarene’s Articles of Faith. The application, Articles of Faith Study Map, is available on the Apple App Store. The project is scheduled for completion by September 30, 2013.
