Initial reports from our Nazarenes in Chuuk are that while there was significant damage, few lives were lost and the government is working to get relief provided.

Asia-Pacific Regional Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Coordinator John Watton has just been on the ground in the aftermath of Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu, South Pacifc.   We are praying that this is not an indicator of the typhoon season to come, which is normally from May through November.

Cyclone Pam Devastates Vanuatu

Please continue to pray as Typhoon Maysak approaches the Yap islands of Micronesia in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 1, (Pacific Time).

Please pray for those outer islanders who have already been impacted.

Please pray for the Philippines as the typhoon is expected to reach the Philippines by Easter weekend.

Please pray for Pastor Richard Sulatra and our Nazarene church in Chuuk as they recover from the devastating typhoon that hammered those islands last Sunday afternoon.

Pastor Sulatra reports that our church there sustained some damage to the roof, windows were broken out and everything inside got wet. He is not able to check on all of his church members as the power is still out on the islands.

Please pray for God to be with the people of Chuuk as they try to clean up and rebuild. Five people lost their lives on the island due to this typhoon. . Romans 8:28 comes into play here. Thank you for your prayers. –  Pastor Larry Cornett – Guam First Church of the Nazarene.
