At 76 years young, this lover of music continues to live life on purpose for God…on both sides of the Pacific!

APNTS, Manila:  Wafting across the air of the Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary (APNTS) campus are the sounds of chorale music, piano, and violin.   It is a special time of year as a musical man on a mission has returned yet again.

Back in the Philippines for the 9th time,  Dr. Charles Seifert, 76, is once again pouring his life and passion for music into seminary students and faculty, as he teaches block courses in choir and Worship & Music.

Dr. Seifert has led a full and abundant life.  He has served as a strings and orchestra director in the public schools for 12 years, served for 21 years as a professor of music at Eastern Nazarene College, and has served as pianist and organist for Nazarene, Methodist, Lutheran, and Presbyterian churches for more than 60 years.

Going strong at 76, pouring out his life into the next generation!

Going strong at 76, pouring out his life into the next generation!

“God has blessed me, I have everything I need and more,” says Seifert. “I love to teach here at APNTS. It is a privilege to be a teacher of so many outstanding students from Asia. But more than this, I feel that I have much to give. A person doesn’t stop serving God at 66. We have a responsibility to pour out our lives. We must do everything possible, devoting our lives and energy to helping the next generations become effective ministers in this [post-modern] secular world. Truthfully, as my father says, “I would rather wear out than rust out!”
