Tonga, South Pacific: The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake has struck northeast of the Tongan capital, Nuku’alofa, at around 7pm local time and registered a magnitude of 6.5. There are no current tsunami warning posted.

“Shaken But Not Destroyed…some broken glass… no report of injuries at this point,” reported Harmon Schmelzenbach, Melanesia South Pacific Field Strategy Coordinator.
Tonga is the home of the Mango Tree Respite Center, a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry center reaching out to individuals and families impacted by disabilities.
