‘Bible Study Holiday’ Brings Joy to 100 Children

by | Sep 19, 2025

Timor-Leste: The Church of the Nazarene Dili, in partnership with the Worldwide Evangelisation for Christ Foundation, hosted a three-day Esperansa Biblia Feriadu – Bible Study Holiday with Esperansa (EBF) from September 4-6, 2025, with about 100 children attending.

EBF, short for Esperansa Biblia Feriadu, is an annual program organized by the WEC Foundation in collaboration with the Igreja do Nazareno Dili. This program, held specifically at the end of each semester break, aims to provide a platform for children to study God’s Word more deeply while enjoying a joyful atmosphere of togetherness. The name “Esperansa” itself means hope, which is also the core spirit of this program.

The program is a three-day children’s camp running from 9 AM to 4 PM. During this time, children are encouraged to take part in various spiritual activities, educational games, creative projects, and Bible study sessions conducted in an engaging way. The aim is not only to enhance their knowledge of the Bible but also to strengthen their faith and develop Christian character from a young age. EBF participants come from different backgrounds, but most are children who already actively join Esperansa’s weekly activities every Monday and Thursday. Additionally, children in Sunday school from the Nazarene Church in Dili and Liquisa also participate. Their participation in EBF fosters brotherhood and provides a space for children to grow together in hope and God’s Word.

With a hopeful spirit, EBF shows that holidays can be full of not just entertainment but also meaningful experiences that build faith, character, and Christ’s love in children’s lives.

Pastora Uli said, “Praise God, in EBF 2025, I was still entrusted to teach stories with the general theme, Life Produces Fruit of the Spirit.” The specific theme I taught was “Peace and Patience.” We performed a drama while I told the story, and the children were very enthusiastic and responded to each topic taught to them.”

Praise God for this wonderful event and the collaboration within God’s kingdom between the Church of the Nazarene Dili and WEC Foundation.
