Special Prayer for the Nation of Papua New Guinea

by | Jul 27, 2017

Papua New Guinea: Rev. Harmon Schmelzenbach, Field Strategy Coordinator (FSC) for the Melanesia-South Pacific (MSP) Field, is requesting for prayers for the nation of Papua New Guinea. During the general elections that were held from June 24 to July 8, many areas in the Highlands experienced civil unrest. Some airports and schools were closed, and land travel had become challenging as well. Because of the disturbance, one of our church members, a police officer, lost his life in the line of duty. Despite this difficult time, Kudjip Nazarene Hospital and Nazarene College of Nursing have remained open to help and minister to those in need.

Please pray that the civil unrest will stop soon and that peace and order be restored in the country. Pray for the protection of our church members and workers who continue to serve the community in the midst of the uncertainty. May the Lord continue to strengthen them as they provide comfort and hope during this time.
