The following report was received from Pastor Jackson Natividad, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Coordinator for the Philippine – Micronesia Field.

Greetings in Jesus’ name.

For the past 24 hours, typhoon Mario hit Metro Manila and the northern part of Luzon with heavy rains leaving Luzon and the Metro flooded.

It may not be as strong as Yolanda, but it left the whole northern part of the country flooded, destroying the economy and lives of many Filipinos.

According to the latest update from our Metro Manila District Superintendent, Arnel Piliin,  447 Nazarene families have been affected. Many of their homes were flooded or destroyed.  In the high land parts of the Province of Rizal many crops were destroyed.

We are presently still waiting for any update to come from District Superintendent Ochoco from the Philippine-Luzon District and DS Crys Colorado of the Metropolitan District.

hqdefaultYour prayers are greatly appreciated for those affected by this storm!
