Rizal, Philippines- The Philippines–Micronesia Field gathered for a meaningful learning and spiritual renewal session at the Jesus Is Building His Church seminar led by General Superintendent Dr. Christian Sarmiento on 12 January 2026. More than 103 participants were on-site, and 95 joined via Zoom, creating a vibrant community united by one purpose: to understand how Christ continues to build His Church through faithful disciples.
Rooted in biblical teaching and theological reflection drawn from the seminar, the discussions emphasized that discipleship is not merely an activity of the Church but its very foundation. Participants were reminded that God’s work begins in the inner person—the heart, mind, and spirit—before it is expressed outwardly in service and mission. Discipleship, therefore, calls believers to surrender personal sovereignty and allow Christ to reign fully in every aspect of life. As highlighted in the seminar, transformation occurs when believers move from self-centered living to Christ-centered obedience, embodying the call to present themselves fully to God in daily life.
Throughout the seminar, fresh insights challenged participants to rethink discipleship not as information transfer but as intentional formation—walking with others toward maturity in Christ. Building the Lord’s Kingdom was framed as a relational process: nurturing believers who live by the Spirit, model holiness, and multiply disciples who do the same. The emphasis on unity—seeing the person as whole rather than divided—reinforced the call for authentic, holistic discipleship that touches both belief and behavior.
As the day concluded, gratitude filled the room for the timely teachings and shared reflections. The seminar equipped leaders and members alike with renewed vision and practical understanding, inspiring everyone to participate actively in what Jesus is already doing—faithfully building His Church through committed disciples.
