NYI Korea empowers pioneering efforts within the community

by | Feb 28, 2025

NYI Korea returned to Thailand after their visit in January 2024 to launch its first mission trip in collaboration with Nazarene missionaries from South Korea. This trip aimed to support new areas and local churches in Thailand.

From 17 to 21 February 2025, NYI Korea visited Thailand and held a Christian music concert in Northeast Thailand. The concert featured K-pop, Christian rap, beatboxing, and a skit. Approximately 400 people were able to hear the Gospel through their performances at four diverse venues: a school in Mahasarakham, a night market in Mahasarakham, Tehsaban Sohkhun School in Huai Koeng, Udon Thani, and Huai Koeng Church of the Nazarene in Huai Koeng, Udon Thani. The impact of such mission trip goes beyond the immediate effects of engagement and outreach. They plant seeds of inspiration and hope within communities. For many attendees, the concert served as more than just a musical experience; it ignited a sense of curiosity about the Christian faith and what it holds for them. The enthusiasm exhibited by the NYI Korea team was infectious, compelling individuals to contemplate their spiritual journey while offering a unique platform for dialogue about faith.

A Korean missionary, Mireu Kim, said, “They have shown God’s love by having fellowship with the Thai people.” He highlighted the profound moment when they shared a Christian song with members of a local Thai church, adding, “This is a powerful testament to the unity we can achieve in global collaboration.” The involvement of local communities in the concert not only showcased cultural exchange but also reinforced the idea of unity in diversity—a powerful testament to how faith can bridge gaps among different cultures.
