Auckland, New Zealand: On 19 July 2025, the New Zealand District hosted its annual Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI) Kids Retreat for children ages 5 to 12. This year’s theme, “Walk by Faith, Not by Sight”, brought together more than 50 children and 15 local NDI leaders from across the motu (island) for a day filled with fun, friendship, and fellowship.
The gathering was made even more special by the presence of Rev. Chad and Rev. Alison Johnson, along with the Joplin District Work & Witness team, who happened to be in New Zealand at the time. They eagerly joined the event, leading games and Bible lessons that kept the tamariki (children) engaged throughout the day. Their enthusiasm and service added an extra layer of joy to the retreat, serving as a reminder that the Holy Spirit is actively moving in the NZ District.
One of the most memorable moments was the worship session. Hearing the children lift their voices in praise with pure, heartfelt, and full of energy—filled the church building and the hearts of all present with overwhelming joy.
The day concluded with deep gratitude to God for His blessings and provision. Not only is the Sunday School growing in numbers, but more importantly, the children are maturing in their relationship with the Lord.
