On 3 June 2025, the Imanuel Church of The Nazarene in Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan, Indonesia, began a new chapter in its history by laying the first stone as a symbol to mark the start of construction on a church building and organizing the church, led by the district superintendent of the Kalimantan District, Rev. Mahendra.
Imanuel Church of the Nazarene is one of the local churches of the Church of the Nazarene in the Kalimantan District, Indonesia, which has 12 family members and has 1 Evangelistic post with 10 family members. Pastor Alfian Ahmad pastors this church. He graduated from the Indonesian Nazarene Theological College in 2021. After graduating, he had a passionate heart to serve in Tanjung Selor. While pioneering the church, he was also active in pioneering several other areas, which would later become the evangelistic post of Imanuel Church. With a passion to serve God and an active outreach, Pastor Alfian’s ministry has yielded results, including an increase in the number of congregations, community support, and backing from the local government.
Praise God! In 2024, a man named Mr. Parel Adris donated a plot of land measuring 15 x 30 meters, guided by God, Pastor. Alfian decided to transfer the land register to the church and registered it with the local government. Additionally, with God’s help and through cooperation with the local government, Imanuel Church received financial assistance of Rp 50 million, or approximately $ 3,000, which served as the initial capital for the church’s construction.
Rev. Alfian said, “I hope that Imanuel Church Of The Nazarene will be a new spirit for God’s servants in the church of the Nazarene, especially in Indonesia, to remain enthusiastic and passionate in serving the lord. Please pray that God will provide for the ongoing construction, pray for the evangelistic posts that we are pioneering and also please pray for me and my family and the congregation at Imanuel church, our longing is that Imanuel church will continue to grow and many posts will be opened for the advancement of the development of the Kalimantan district.”
Praise God for His mercy to His church in North Kalimantan. May it continue to reach more people and disciple those in Tanjung Selor to become Christ-like disciples.
