Taytay, Philippines: Generation Congregation (GENCON), a youth movement under the Taytay First Church of the Nazarene, celebrated its 21st anniversary on 8 June 2025, with the bold declaration: “This is not a celebration—this is a revolution.”
This celebration was attended by hundreds of young people to honor more than 2 decades of God’s faithfulness in their youth ministry. The theme, “Revolution,” underscored the movement’s continued commitment to evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development rooted in the message of Jesus Christ.
The story of Generation Congregation began in 2004, when a passionate group of young people—many involved in extreme sports and rock music—felt called to serve God in a way that defied convention. At a time when these passions often clashed with traditional church norms, they pushed forward anyway. And God blessed it.
What began as a small gathering of youth on fire for Jesus grew into a full-blown movement that has touched the lives of thousands across schools, communities, and workplaces. From its humble beginnings, GENCON has become a vibrant force for evangelism and discipleship—raising up leaders who boldly carry the Gospel into every sphere of society. Various ministries have been the target point of this movement that is designed to reach and disciple young people. This involves Cellgroups, Sports Ministry, Age-Group Services (for High School, College, and Young Professionals), Campus Minstry, Production & Events, social media, Continuing Education, and Scholarship Programs.
Generation Congregation continues to meet every Sunday at Taytay First Church of the Nazarene and remains open to partnerships with schools, local governments, companies, and organizations that share its passion for reaching and equipping the next generation.
As the ministry moves forward, leaders and members of GENCON remain focused on the mission: to raise up hardcore followers of Jesus Christ and transform society through discipleship and service.
