Education and training of clergy and lay leaders is essential to reaching Southeast Asia. Our vision is to continue the revitalization of Southeast Asia Nazarene Bible College (SEANBC) which includes accreditation through the Asia Theological Association. A key component for this process is the establishment of a physical library and adequate classroom and training space.
Our target for this library is the Bangkok First Church of the Nazarene, located in the hub city of Southeast Asia, on property owned by the Church of the Nazarene. The second and third floors of Bangkok First Church have multiple strategic uses. These uses include the development of SEANBC Thailand, extension classroom and office space for the center coordinator, the SEANBC Library, Thailand District Office, the Bangkok First Church meeting room and community service area, as well as the Golden Path Foundation community library and literacy program. By developing this area into a multi-purpose facility, several stakeholders will have mutual benefits. The project will require 2 Work and Witness Teams and a total budget of approximately $20,000 dollars. Impact: Accreditation will increase the portability and respectability of the SEANBC degrees. All throughout Southeast Asia, education is a measure of social status. Pastors who have respected degrees have a stronger voice in the community and more protection from hostile officials. Office and meeting facilities will enable us to host our own meetings. Classrooms that are fully equipped will allow for both receiving and sending video classes, enhancing extension education.
