Pinery, Australia: The Australia Southern District  reported yesterday, the very sad news that one of our Nazarene church members has died in a major crop and scrub fire which started in Pinery and swept across the Adelaide Plains north of Adelaide, Australia.

Mr. Allan Tiller, a farmer who also served as the church secretary of the Pinery Church of the Nazarene, was killed fighting this fast moving fire.

Allan is survived by his wife Jenny who was previously the NMI president of the Gawler Church. Allan was well known in the district and will be sadly missed by his family, church and community.

According to ABC.Net.au, Premier Jay Weatherill said the fire had destroyed 16 houses and 22 "significant buildings", along with dozens of cars and machinery.

“We are comforted by knowing that Allan was a committed believer in Jesus Christ who said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’ (John 11:25),” said Rev. Davidson.

The Asia-Pacific Region Church of the Nazarene along with the entire Church in Australia, extends our condolences to Jenny Tiller, their family, and friends in the Pinery and Gawler congregations.
