Diploma in Nursing
Before the 100-bed hospital was completed in 1967, a school for Aid Post Orderlies had been started. In 1972 the Nazarene School of Nursing began a program for Enrolled Nurses, and became an Enrolled Community Health Nurse program. The program was discontinued in 1983 due to changes directed by the Department of Health and the Nursing Council. However, the school became a tertiary institution because of the General Nurse training requirement of Grade 10 completion, and had the first intake of General Nurses was in 1984. The name of the school was changed to the Nazarene College of Nursing with the first intake of Diploma of General Nurses in January 2002.
