In 1952 the Japan Nazarene Theological Seminary was established at Oyamadai Church in Tokyo. Since then about 100 persons have graduated from JNTS. In 1958, Japan Christian Junior College was established, and with a new vision, in 1961 JNTS moved to the campus of JCJC in order to make a consistent theological education program and the total education for evangelists and pastors. In 1966 The District Assembly adopted the District Board proposal that JNTS should be moved to Tokyo and operated by Japanese staff.
JNTS might be one of the smallest seminaries in the Nazarene world, but fully serving the kingdom of the God in Japan. JNTS is not accredited by the authorities, but it is fully supported and guaranteed by the Japan District of the Church of the Nazarene.
